Production-Scale FBCVD Reactor Delivery for Powder Coating Modification
New Energy Materials
Background
A new-energy materials company needed CVD powder coating modification (carbon/silicon coating) for battery and ceramic powders, requiring large-batch continuous production, uniform coating and batch stability. The customer originally used a fixed-bed process with poor coating uniformity and limited capacity, so it upgraded to the fluidized-bed CVD route.
Customer Requirements
| Item | Specification |
|---|---|
| Capacity | Production scale 20-100 kg/batch |
| Coating temperature | 400-700 C adjustable |
| Coating uniformity | CV<5% |
| Process gases | Silane/ethylene/propylene/Ar |
| Safety | Silane interlock, off-gas treatment |
Solution
Songrui delivered an SR-P production-scale fluidized-bed CVD reactor with FBCVD gas dosing, off-gas and temperature-control systems. The reactor uses a widened fluidized bed with 4-zone temperature control so particles are fully fluidized and coated evenly; multi-channel mass flow controllers dose silicon/carbon sources precisely, and temperature control keeps the bed uniform.
Results
| Indicator | Target | Actual |
|---|---|---|
| Coating uniformity | CV<5% | CV=2.8% |
| Batch repeatability | CV<8% | CV=4.5% |
| Capacity | - | About 3x higher than fixed-bed |
| Safety | Zero incidents | Zero incidents |
Customer feedback: stable batch production, significantly improved coating quality and capacity; the follow-up line expansion continues with Songrui.
