Fluidized-Bed Surface Coating Equipment Delivery, Functional Powder Client
Powder Materials
Background
A functional powder producer needed surface coating modification of alumina, silica and similar fine powders to improve dispersion, weatherability and specific functions (hydrophilic/hydrophobic, heat resistance). Fine particle size (800-1200 mesh) and dust issues require uniform coating, stable batches and dust/off-gas control.
Specifications
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Particle size | 800-1200 mesh |
| Process | Fluidized-bed surface coating modification |
| Coating temperature | 150-450 C (by coating agent) |
| Fluidization gas | Compressed air/inert gas |
| Vessel material | Stainless steel |
| Coating method | Atomized/gas-phase agent dosed quantitatively |
| Emission control | Bag dedusting + off-gas scrubbing |
Solution
Delivered a fluidized-bed coating modification unit (stainless steel body, conical distributor, zone temperature control) with coating-agent delivery, gas lines, collection and dust removal. Optimized fluidization gas and distributor structure ensure uniform fluidization of fine powder; coating agent is atomized or gas-injected and mixed for even coating. Discharge includes graded collection and bag dedusting; off-gas is scrubbed to meet emission limits and control workshop dust.
Milestones: process and powder characterization (month 1), fabrication (months 2-3), installation (month 4), fluidization and coating parameter commissioning (month 5), acceptance (month 6).
Results
| Indicator | Target | Actual |
|---|---|---|
| Particle size | 800-1200 mesh | Achieved |
| Coating uniformity | Batch consistent | Stable |
| Coating rate | Meets functional requirements | Met |
| Workshop dust | Controlled | Met |
| Off-gas emission | Compliant | Better than standard |
Customer feedback: uniform coating and stable batches on fine powder, dust and off-gas well controlled, smooth operation, easy switching among powder types.
